This poster is set in the woods however; it is not a regular landscape as we can see. Rather than having an iconic freeze frame from the film or a prop on the poster, we are shown a symbolic representation of what kind of film The Cabin in The Woods really is. The background Is masked in an eerie fog that gives connotations of fear and represents the unknown that lurks within.

The wood cabin which is religiously conventional to the iconography of horror films has been made unconventional by being displayed through a clever use of graphics as a Rubik cube type shape.
