Web 2.0
Web 2.0 technologies have revolutionized
the face of the media. When the internet was first being introduced to the
public, we only had the option of being consumers, today we have the ability
and are persuaded by the media (e.g. Instagram, Facebook etc.) to be prosumers.
Not only do we consume online material, we the public produce it. Thanks to
cheap/ free software and online sharing websites like blogger, Vimeo and
YouTube, we are able to share our content with our own audiences. This makes it much
easier to distribute our own digital products and information and is a perfect
cost effective way of receiving feedback in order to improve our own media. We
can also use these technologies to promote and advertise our products.
